That was probably two years before catering-gate.

Great episode though.

Deep into the ‘80’s that’s how I felt. I thought the general auto consumer would never see 300 HP again. Now 400 HP choices are plentiful and 500 and 600 HP are in reach of plenty of people, all from the factory. There are enough out there that as contemporary cars come on the used market in 5 - 10 years big HP will be within reach of anyone that wants it. The automobile market is the best it’s ever been.

That is what I have heard from people that would know. I don’t think the contracts were renewed until all of the ratings for the full season were all in.
